These days (with the passing of time) religion has become connotation
of hazards, public discomfort, nuisance and above all lawlessness .I have had a
compulsion to move out of residence for some urgent works in my vehicle. I
found almost all the bylines and streets adored with Ganpathi Idol installations
.I chose another short cut in Neighborhood Township. It had also installed
number of similar installations on the middle of the roads. I was not alone in this
adventure trip. Hundreds of vehicle owners (all category) faced the brunt of
these impediments .These are continuing uninterrupted without murmur from the
general public .It appears that every political party, religious and similar organization
are law unto themselves.
The plague of vote bank culture has inroads in local
administrations: Grmapanchayats, corporations etc. Whether it be encroachments,
non payments of taxes , water charges ,electricity bills and its thefts, or other violations by the residents such
as this . Whether it be prayer on the roads in some of cities, building of countless
tiny or otherwise worshiping points preferably built in make ad shift basis by
the people in spite of recent observation by the apex Court of India, these are
on the rise that too on the middle of roads uncared by the passers by any
stretch of their live imagination of respect. Are we not insulting our deities?
One fails to understand in what manner we are devoted to the cause of religion
on the eve of such festivals. It is of course an occasion of extensive business
and on this ground alone we need to promote it as a liberal economic and trade forum on such occasions and nothing else. 8 to 10
days have passed these are there on roads. The followers of other religions cannot
say anything but the followers of the same religions are silent on issues of
religion which matters the general welfare of the public.
I live in an area
surrounded with mini hills(sacrificed at the altar of granite mafia) and thin
forests and these are converted in to pubs and wine shots by the youths from
here and there during these nights. I saw priests roaming in cozy and costly
cars to meet the demands of rituals. It is the failure of religions and
religious people that the morality of this country is at the lowest ebb.
The religion is meant for spread of righteousness in their
followers: distinguishing right and wrong and sustain only the right to attain righteousness
in an individual for all purpose and on all circumstances. Alas this pious
foundation is hurt on daily basis in our life .How can one expect a government
to show right path. A frustrated lover dashed his hero Honda against an Andhra
Pradesh Roadways Corporation speedy bus with his girl friend as a pillion rider with a suicide note in his
pocket .How can a government act in such cases. We are doom to decay.WE
