THE RAIL BUDGET 2013-2014 : SIX TIMES(RAE BRELY) VS TEN TIMES(AHMADABAD):
My grandfather died at the age of
one hundred five years in 1963 and his grandson has attained seventy three
years of his age. It is co incidence that Sonia Gandhi is Member of Parliament
of Rae Brely Uttar Pradesh and his son Rahul represents Amethi. Since the time
of East India Railway Company during
British period Lucknow is connected to Howrah. Rae Brely, Amethi (Sultanpur),Pratap
garh (Ouadh),Badshshahpur(Jaunpur), Janghaiyee(Allahabad) ,Bhadohi(Mirzapur) Varanasi,Mughal
Sarai(Varansi) ,Gaya (Bihar),Patna(Bihar)…., fall between Lucknow and Howrah. More
than centuries have passed one Mail Train then 5 UP and 6 down ran between
Howrah to Amritsar. So far as I remember I have seen as many as four generation
of Engines pulling this train. Three of them coal driven and fourth one diesel
operated .It remains single track till to day: Lucknow to Varansi.
The trains One UP two Down (Kalka
Mail), three UP Four Down (Bombay Mail) are running on double tracks after
independence. This line is only one which is single track. The most densely
populated stations are there and the passengers move to Central, Eastern UP, South
Bihar (Tatanagar),Bihar,and Bengal via this route. This route is neither
electrified nor double rail track laid. Now the present proposal to convert it
into double track that too from Lucknow to Amethi is actually an eye wash .This
is very insignificant beginning .Railway minister must not be blamed for this. The
irritation by the opposition is not based on facts but whims and personal animosity.
