To see an Odissa man carrying his wife`s dead body on his shoulders has shamed all of us. Why was he stopped by any citizen then and there and arrangement made for him? It was further disgusting to see his daughter following. I have experience of black mailing by Super Specialty Hospitals at Hyderabad also and asking us to approach the team of Ambulance drivers (vultures) looking for prey. Charge is Rs 30 per Km. We are given to understand that Hospital does not provide this service. This is one aspect of theirs.
The Emergency ward will first ask the patient to deposit Rs thirty thousand before admission and treatment .We have Ambulance bearing no.100 introduced by former Chief Minister Y.S.R at the disposal of every police station. Quick services are available but bargain is effected by the staff in it.
